![]() ![]() The initial night front desk worker’s response was one of thanks for alerting them, but no interest was taken in their guest (again, we are HGVC owners). My wife actually had to ask to be moved to another room. What was done about it was even more shocking. Now, we are adults and we know that with a resort in such a bustling and International city this is a possibility, but again, this is HGVC… it should be of a higher standard… but again, it happened. I and my son (who was staying in his own suite at the time) were out that night when my wife found it, and she reported it quickly to the front desk. We had barely spent any time in that room and thankfully no one had used the pull out bed. ![]() And this is where it gets really ugly… a few days in to our stay we found a bedbug in the pull out sofa of our 1-bedroom suite. And on this last visit, we were treated worse than we would expect even the casual hotel guest would be treated… the disappointments continued. These resorts were built on treating their owners with respect and value… it’s what makes ownership appealing over just going the standard hotel booking route. But NEVER have we (again, owners) had such a bad experience at a HGVC resort/hotel – and we’ve been to many. Disappointing hotels stays are to be expected and we’ve had our fair share of them. The drinks, for the amount of money spent, were not made well and not even remotely worth the cost. The bar at the HGVC pool, the one thing that the little pool had going for it, was open sporadically at best, and although the lady bartending was very nice and accommodating to the best of her ability, she was not a good bartender. The pool is small, which is understandable because it was meant to be an alternate to the greater Flamingo pool… but that pool is a cost-intensive (and quite loud) Party Pool now and not something that will appeal to all users. It is merely a hotel now, with nothing really special going on inside (or out) to make it anything more than that. ![]() It’s nothing like that now, and is but a shadow of its former self. What a difference 10 years makes! This was once a great facility, with respect for the HGVC owners and amenities and services designed to appeal to the travelers that bought in to the resort. We went several times in the beginning, but hadn’t been back in at least 10 years. We’ve been owners with HGVC for 15 years, and although the Flamingo isn’t our home resort, it was the first we ever went to and what started us on the journey to ultimate ownership. They were spectacular. My family and I just returned from a week’s stay at the HGVC property at the Flamingo in Las Vegas. If you get a chance request Crystal as your server and Derrick. We did choose to eat lunch in the cabana and had a bit of down time. The daybed are nice but if you have a larger group the cabana for sure. Is it worth it? Well, currently the pool attendance is cut in half and with limited capacity the sure way to guarantee access is to rent a cabana or a daybed. In the pool, I guess the chlorine likely kills Covid? Is it worth the cost? So a cabana ranges from $200- $600 on weekends. It just seems like weird masks rules, but we followed them. Covid: You have to wear a mask at all times outside of the pool except when eating or drinking. Derrick brought us towels, set the mist, turned off the mist, turned it back on again, etc. They are your personal cabana boy and cocktail server. Derrick and Crystal were phenomenal! Catered to our every need. We ended up in a cabana and it was awesome. I am older and did not necessarily want to spend the entire day in the pool. #CabanaLife It was my god-daughter's 21st birthday. ![]()
